Opinel Knife N°7 - Carbon steel

- Material: Carbon steel XC90
- Blade length: 7 cm
- Handle: Wood (beech)
- Safety: safety ring
BLADE:
Carbon steel is extremely hard, ensuring excellent cutting quality, good wear resistance, and easy re-sharpening. Carbon can also corrode. We advise you to avoid damp places and to wipe and oil the blade after use.
HANDLE:
Beech is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel handles. Beech is hard, durable, and easy to work with. Due to its homogeneous appearance, its light color ranges from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark streaks.
SAFETY:
The Virobloc safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, is fitted on all folding knives from No. 06. The Virobloc, cut from stainless steel, has two parts, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the open blade (safety during use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety during transport).
