Steel Tiger® is a fully modern tactical interpretation of the Indonesian karambit. In collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and the late knife maker Steven Likarich, Steel Tiger® was designed to incorporate all the best features of this iconic blade while seamlessly connecting it with modern materials and style.

The deeply curved and curved blade made of AUS 8A stainless steel is heat-treated and cryogenically hardened, tapered, and has a stone-washed finish for maximum sharpness, cutting strength, edge retention, and performance.

The durable Griv-Ex™ handle fully encapsulates the tang, creating support, a thumb hole, and an iconic finger ring. This core is then over-molded with premium Kray-Ex™ to create an excellent, non-slip grip that won’t let you down, even if your hands are cold or wet.

For safety and comfort, the Steel Tiger® comes with a military sheath Secure-Ex®, which can be attached to your gear or carried on you with the removable belt/boot clip.

AUS 8A stainless steel
Cold Steel® has been using the same expertly heat-treated Japanese AUS 8A steel for almost three decades. This steel has proven to be remarkably effective over the years and has shown to be excellent working knife steel - tough, corrosion-resistant, with good edge retention, and easy to sharpen.
